NWG Programme of Learning and Development 2023

Welcome to the NWG Programme of Learning and Development

Over the past years, the NWG Network has held an annual two-day conference showcasing work, resources and research from across the UK. The conferences have welcomed, both new and existing members of our network. Delegates have found it valuable to meet new colleagues carrying out similar work and catching up with those who have worked to tackle the exploitation of children for a long time. Covid of course hampered our ability to host the events in person and are pleased to be back face-to-face now and greeting you all as we have previously done.

Through our work, the team have identified individuals, projects, resources and research worthy of sharing in a wider setting and as such we are delighted to welcome speakers and discussion groups this year covering such subjects as

  • Responses to the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse
  • Understanding and deterring offending behaviour
  • Safeguarding partnership work
  • Educational resources
  • Issues facing LGBTQ+I and those who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
  • Young people’s behaviour on social media apps
  • Safeguarding in faith and sports
  • County lines and recording concerns on unaccompanied minors
  • Artificial intelligence and deep fake developments
  • Witchcraft and spiritual pocession
  • Organ harvesting

NWG are delighted to let you know that we have secured additional funding towards covering some of the cost of attending our learning and development week making the event more affordable for all.

Tuesday 10 - Wednesday 11 October 2023

The NWG thanks its current funders for believing in our work and joining us on our journey to ending child exploitation:
